Careers Education for Employment - At this level, adults are expected to:

They will need to talk about what they would like to do after they have finished studying.

They will have to know at least four places where they can find out about getting a job. These could include
their school, the library, college or a local job centre.

They will have to name at least two people they can talk to about the job they would like to do. These could
include their tutor or supervisor, a careers advisor, an employer, family or friends.

They must talk to their tutor or supervisor about what they would like to do when they have finished studying.
Finding a Job - At this level, adults are expected to:

They will have to know at least four places where they might look for job advertisements. These could include
the careers centre, job centre, newspapers, noticeboards or the internet.

Their tutor or supervisor should give them some job adverts and they must choose a job advert for a
job they think they might like to do. They must tell their tutor
or supervisor why they would like to do this job and why they think they might be good at it.
Applying for a Job - At this level, adults are expected to:

They will have to complete an application form that includes their name, address, age, date of birth,
telephone number and the name of someone who will write they a reference. They should check their form and
make sure that it is correct and neat enough to send to an employer.

They must talk about theirselves to their tutor or supervisor. They should be able to tell them their
name, where they live, the things they enjoy doing and why they would like to do the job that they
have applied for. They should speak clearly and politely.
