Local woman retrains

Local woman Mary Bailey is following in her husband's footsteps by training to be a motor mechanic.

Mary's husband, Peter, is already a mechanic and Mary has just completed an 'Introduction to Motor Vehicle Service and Repair' course at Burton Training College.

Mary has now joined an advanced course in motor vehicle repair and is also starting a part-time welding course.

Mary is looking forward to the new challenge. She said, "I know it's an unusual career choice, but why shouldn't women be mechanics?"

Burton Training College is offering these and a range of other courses free for the next six weeks.
